GABE and Christmas

You have a wonderful christmas all the presents are open the food has been done, now all the family is ready to sit and watch the newest mummy before the close of the night. when out of nowhere the fone rings, you run to get it to prevent a bad scene. all of a sudden there arose such a noise ,you are sure the appocolypes is about to occur. Up comes greg at a dead run throwing off his shirt and stuttering your son, your son. then comes grandpa laughing till he coughs yelling they all got it, they all got it. on the run comes Gabriel just as fast as his legs will go to the bathroom he goes to heave and to ho until no more comes. When the hustle has settled you learn that mr gabe has made his scene of vomit or two on the floor without a twitch with such great care he taps dad and then lets er rip. I must say this will be a christmas to remember.

I have had the greatest week everyone either texted, emailed or called to wish me a happy birthday. And I got to go get my brother a bday present so I hope he liked it. I also have to let everyone know that I am truly impressed with Representative Fortenberry I have emailed him twice he sent me a letter to tell me how he voted in the bail out and what the turn out was then his office called to let me know who to contact for the cabinet conformation it was great definately impressed.

daddy's gone

with greg being gone all week and the cupboards don't look to appetizing it was only a matter of getting creative and not ordering in. I can remember the old commercals of Jello all day today and as i made a cranberry,bananna, manderin orange jello it all came back the yummy flavor and taste to top off this creation of delight was home made whipping cream that was just melt in the mouth good. I bet now greg is missing this lovely home evening. i bet he wished he wasn't in K.C. for training owell maybe I will get the urge when he is home but for now yum yum for me.

Thankful

Today was a wonderful day lots of food and family to go around. I think of all the times of year that we join each other for dinner and i am especially gratefull to live where we have that ability. This is the second year that my family has been here and it is a little weird to have lots of people to dinner that are related it was great.

for the last few weeks I have contemplated what my thanks were and I must say my family, my neighbors, friends, and people I don't really like becuase they keep me real.

I'm thankful that I have a house to live in and healthy children. I love that I can stay home because I choose to and not worry about money. so many wonderful things, the lord in my life. I just must say thanks for all that has been given and will be given.

Twilight

So I went with Neil to the movie twilight for the midnight matinee. totally loved the show laughed all the way through. Dylan wants to go for his birthday I think I am going to let him I don't know if he will get even half of the humor. I was sitting next to some highschool kids and as the movie was going they really couldn't figure out why some of the scenes were so funny and I thought you have to be an adult of have children to get it. It was just great there were so many crazy people there and I was calm (HAHAHA) and taking it all in just great. I think I am going to take greg just for a date night He could totally appreciate the humor.

well this has been one busy week. Papa came for a visit and Grandpa had a b-day party. We also did the pumpkin patch I have a ton of pictures. so I will get them posted asap.

Papa finally got here today I had to leave church a little early so that we could pick him up at the airport in time. This will be fun to have him here for the next week the kids are so excited. They already have lists of things they want to do. and me I get to work on the house and relax. I have little things to do just for upkeep to hopefully finally sell my house. I hope it is soon.

This is the most frustrating time selling the house. We had someone lined up but they decided to show their parents. They said no but I guess it didn't end there they had a yelling match in front of there realtor and in my house. well hopefully this weekend it will be better. I am ready to go and move on.

relief society broadcast.

tonight as we all went to shannon's house to watch the relief society broadcast I had thought about all the others I had been to and how this one was going to turn out. I have been to several of them I have not always been super comfortable at them I have always felt a little self concious. but I can say this really was the first one that I didn't feel as if I had someone else's skin on. This was not like a big light bulb but as I have been preparing to say my night prayers. I had thought back on this night and saw the comfort I had being surrounded by these wonderful people. Who take time to speak to me and befreind me. I have been very blessed at this and just wanted to say thank you.

why try arguing logic

this evening as it is late faith comes up to use the bathroom as another delaying tactic of going to bed. I am fine with this I am used to this I know her routine. Tonight however it was slightly off kilter as she comes out of the bathroom yelling that gabriel was naughty and needed to be in trouble. When asked it is becuase he went poop and didn't flush. now not that it is fun to hear or even to think about that but you would think that it would dictate flush the toilet and get on with your business. oh no, when given solution to her problem Faith goes on about how She didn't poop and wasn't going to flush so she had to go potty and went upstairs instead. Lord but I thought this would take another year before this came about.

Aunt Marsha dropped the annul bookbag this year and it goes to Dylan he isgoing to be so thrilled that it finally arrived. it looks great and I know that dylan is going to enjoy it.

A Baby

Easton James Steffen was born yesterday. We are so excited to have a baby from Greg's side of the family a first for his sister Andrea we are really glad he has finally arrived.

Sad Day

Well today didn't start to well. GAbe and Faith came up this morning to inform us that two our pond fish were missing and they couldn't find them. GReg and I got up to help find the fish and we found the remains of one just the jaw and some skin. We know that it was either a possum or a raccoon. Our last remaining fish was a little batter and I think so was Greg so first thing this morning we went down and got an aquarium for our last little fish hopefully with his injuries he will make it. we must say goodbye to our little friends.

Day on the bike trail

Imagine your are riding your bike with your kids in the back they are tired of riding and want to walk. You stop, let them out and start to follow them they are running on the side of the bike trail having a great time all of a sudden one then the other decide they need to push the buggy like your engine is stopped running. now this is fun and great they are having fun but then the people start coming by imagine the look on their faces as they walk, run, ride by and see two little kids pushing mom on the bike at a run and yelling faster and then you will know how this morning has went. I really wish I had pictures words can not discribe the looks or the fun Faith and Gabe have had.

You know sometimes the lord works in misterious ways. I was thinking about how I was going to replace the carpet that I ripped out of my basement before sunday. Ya know the house is for sale and I have an open house on sunday. Then I get the mail. now usually you only get bills and junk right. However on this lovely day that was Treavens birthday I got a check. It was not what I was expecting and it will cover the cost so I don't have to wait until thursday to replace carpet isn't that wonderful.

We are now in keeping the house emaculate phase and it really sucks. we get up in the morning wipe everything down and vaccuum. then we leave. Were lucky that we have had 3 showings in 2 days so hopefully it will sell really fast and we can move.

Greg and I yesterday went looking at houses in omaha we found 2 that might work one just needs a little work on it. the other would be a complete gut and remodel. that one has the bigger yard. I am not to worried I figure that if we are suppose to have that house it will be there when this one sells.

well, we passed inspection with minor stuff to fix. nothing we weren't aware of so on monday our house will be up for sale. Finally after years of trying to get everything done. it is finally finished. so Omaha here we come in the next moth or two.

okay tomorrow is inspection day for the house. I think everything is ready. I hope no problems prop up. If today is the sign were in big trouble. Treaven is having a hard time with the idea of moving and now has moved to sabatoge. He decided to tear up part of the bathroom wall in the master bath. little did he know that grandma was going to make him fix it while I went to scouts without him. but all I have left to do now is paint it tomorrow and it will be fixed I hope he has learned something because I was ready to committ mayhem.

just a few days are left before the home inspections and I am a nervous nelly getting everything ready. the kids are working hard at cleaning the messes they have made up and all that it just seems to be coming so fast and I am struggling to keep up.

okay, so now it is going to get even crazier, today I spent the day in omaha looking at houses I found 1 that just might make it we will see, then Karen our realtor there thinks she can find what we want since today was just to see what would actually work and wouldn't so she believes she can find what we want. yeah

WEll, i must truly thank miss shannon for coming and adding things to my blog because it was truly beyond me. I am having fun trying to play with it. As I was adding songs to my play list one I had to add was belinda carlise's. While I was getting home today with faith and Gabriel she was singing and I was getting her out. she told me that I needed to turn the truck back on because she was singing the song and she wasn't done. I had to really laugh at that. but I know she loves music. so thanks I am enjoying all this fun stuff on this space that I am incapable of figureing out how to make work.

so, my hands are about to fall off after stripping the door that goes to the pantry just so that we can repaint it. there were at least 5 coats of paint that were on that door and they haven't came off easily. O'well almost another thing to check off on our finish list before we sell. Our estimated date is August 1st and it seems to be coming right up we have put everything off just so we can finish all of our projects so we can sell. I have missed my reunion, 2 trips to kansas city, a couple of movies, all the date nights and everything else that is there. I know this is worth it We will just have to visit. later.

modern day little house on the prairie

ON sunday Greg had decided to stain the stairs wonderful I enjoy nice looking stairs but he didn't plan on them taking 3 days to dry so instead of Faith and Gabe being at my parents house overnight once it was twice and of course how was I to get to my room but to take a leaf out of little house on the prarie and climb the latter.

so for 2 days now I have been hot because my air conditioner has been on the fritz. nevermind that I need to pack for our goal is to have the house on the market august 1st. no, the airconditioner has decided to die and not very conviently if i do say so myself. Well i decide to be a responsible adult and call the wonderful people who fix things, as I am talking i start to think my house is strange I had better go down and look at the breaker panel becaue it may be in the breaker that is the one thing besides the airconditioner that we haven't replaced. yup, it's off.. ahha i just need to flip a few switches and were good to go right. WRONG, it will flip and the air will come on for about 10 seconds at which time it is so nice and shuts off. so we will find out the lovely price tag of our newest problem tomorrow after I go house hunting. I have found 6 houses in northeast lincoln and about 15 in omaha. so I go tomorrow for lincoln and next thursday for omaha. well wish luck this is going to be a very busy two months.

so now that I have a few moments of time. I can finally talk about my trip to colorado. I had the best fun ever. first I have never gone on an all female trip anywhere and didn't know what to expect. I can say it went smooth and I didnt step on anyones toes that I know of. I did have a bit of a problem with sleeping in you would think that I would be able to but no. Any hoo I was up for the meandering walk that chris, pam, becca and I went on little did I know that a meander would include being a mountain goat but 2 miles later and 2 hours later I can say I had more than my share of a work out.but the best day was on the water level 4&3 it was fantabulous. we started out learning strokes and then went on the attack our rhythm never really got in sink but we did have a hey day trying to remember to shout stroke. then we hit the dip that wanted me out of the raft. it was a close call but diane saved the day as I was trying to get back in and then i made my emergancy rescue of my oar. I had fun and can not wait to go next year.

well now that I am throughly exhausted maybe I can actually get some good sleep. oh ya the kids are still awake at 10pm scratch that. Maybe I can drag myself out of bed in the morning. Can I just say what a crazy season it has been and I can not wait until I know how to upload pictures becuase I am unable to figure that out. I have gone white water rafting and the older boys have been competing in swim meets. I have all these fun things but am not sure how to upload but tomorrow I should know how. I think this wil be the death of me trying to figure this out. well ta ta for now.

So this is really pitiful that I must have someone else come in and help me on trying to get this thing running. it just seems a little to complicated to me this really needs to be click and go. What is really bad is that I have passed several computer classes with a's and you would think i would know how to do this but alas I can't even figure out how to show my blogs. thanks to shannon who helped me set this up and had to come in and figure it out.

getting ready.

well getting ready to go rafting next week i seem to forget everything else. when i think no kids no husband peace, quiet, I get really excited. did great with scouts and I survived my first time teaching the sunbeams. I'm sorta feeling pretty successful this week.

going through summer

well were getting into things and are trying to smooth everything out. We have been working on the house to get it ready to sell. yeah I just know we are going to succeed this year. aiming for the end of june.
